Meet Our Staff
At Read, Martin & Slickman, we have the professionals who will meet your needs and exceed your expectations. Our professional staff are trained in several fields in order to broaden their experiences and to cultivate a more comprehensive background to be used in the engagements to which they are assigned. The firm dedicates substantial resources to the professional improvement and development of its professional staff. To help further our professional development, our CPAs maintain active memberships in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants. Read, Martin & Slickman is a member of the AICPA Peer Review Program, the industry's most widely accepted professional standards program, and has successfully completed the Peer Review Program since its inception in the early 1980s. All professional staff receive a minimum of forty hours of continuing education per year in various fields of knowledge.



Jennifer M. Brynteson, CPA, Partner

Ms. Brynteson is a partner in our Rome office and has over fifteen years of experience in public accounting. Ms. Brynteson has experience in accounting, auditing, and income taxes for various types of entities including financial institutions, manufacturing entities, nonprofit organizations, and wholesale and retail businesses. Ms. Brynteson chairs our internal review committee that ensures quality attest services. 

Ms. Brynteson received her Bachelor of Business Administration degree form Kennesaw State University in 2000 with a major in accounting. She is a Certified Public Accountant, a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants
     Molly H. Edwards, CPA, MBA, Partner

Ms. Edwards is a partner in our Rome and Cedartown offices and has over fifteen years of experience in public accounting. Ms. Edwards is a Certified Public Accountant licensed to practice in the State of Georgia. She holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration with Accounting Concentration and a Masters of Business Administration from Berry College. 

Ms. Edwards is responsible for individual, corporate, partnership and limited liability accounting, income tax planning and income tax preparation. Ms. Edwards also works with clients in the area of employee benefits, including tax filings and employee benefit plan audits.

Ms. Edwards is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Cedartown Chapter of Kiwanis International. Ms. Edwards is a past President of the Rome Chapter of the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants, serves as a board member for the Cedartown Chapter of Kiwanis International, and is a proud graduate of the 2008 Polk County Adult Leadership Class.

     Linda Rhodes, CPA

Mrs. Rhodes is a retired partner in our Rome office and has more than thirty-three years of experience in public accounting. Mrs. Rhodes earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Emory University and received her accounting education from Floyd College and Berry College. She has been with the firm since 1977 and became licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in 1981. Mrs. Rhodes’s area of concentration is in taxation of various types of entities, especially individuals, estates, trusts, and foundations. She has extensive experience working with executors and trustees involving estates and trusts, including multimillion-dollar entities. She also works with individuals concerning lifetime giving and gifts.

Mrs. Rhodes is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants.

     Edward M. Henderson

​Mr. Henderson is a retired partner of the firm with more than forty years of experience in public accounting. Mr. Henderson has experience in financial accounting, auditing, and income taxes for various types of entities including financial institutions, manufacturing entities, nonprofit organizations, and wholesale and retail businesses. Mr. Henderson assists the firm as needed. 

Mr. Henderson received a Bachelor of Business Science degree with a major in accounting from Berry College.  

     Penny S. Farrer, CPA, MBA

Ms. Farrer is a Certified Public Accountant licensed to practice in the state of Georgia. She is a manager and is responsible for performing financial statement audits for governmental and non-profit entities. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants.  

Ms. Farrer holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Accounting and a Masters of Business Administration from Berry College.  

    Samantha M. Tew, CPA, MAcc
 
​Ms. Tew earned her Bachelor of Business Administration from Shorter University with a concentration in accounting and fraud examination, as well as her Master of Accountancy.

She joined Read, Martin, & Slickman in February 2015 where she prepares individual, corporation, and partnership income taxes. In addition, she assists with audits, compilations, and reviews of private, governmental, and non-profit entities. 
Michelle C. O'Neill

​Ms. O’Neill is a graduate of the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Foreign Affairs and a concentration in Chinese Studies. She has continued her education in accounting in order to prepare for the CPA exam and a career in public accounting. Ms. O’Neill brings with her over twenty years of business experience in variety of settings including retail, medical and manufacturing industries, working both in the U.S. and Asia. Ms. O’Neill joined Read, Martin and Slickman in the Fall of 2014 and is looking forward to applying her unique business, accounting, and personal experiences to the benefit of our clients’ accounting needs.
