Linda G. Rhodes, CPA, partner

Mrs. Rhodes is a partner in our Rome office and has more than thirty-two years of experience in public accounting. Mrs. Rhodes earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Emory University and received her accounting education from Floyd College and Berry College.  She has been with the firm since 1977 and became licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in 1981.  Mrs. Rhodes’s area of concentration is in taxation of various types of entities, especially individuals, estates, trusts, and foundations.  She has extensive experience working with executors and trustees involving estates and trusts, including multimillion-dollar entities.  She also works with individuals concerning lifetime giving and gifts.

Mrs. Rhodes is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants.
 
Jennifer M. Brynteson, CPA, partner

Ms. Brynteson is a partner in our Rome office and has more than ten years of experience in public accounting.  Ms. Brynteson has experience in accounting, auditing, and income taxes for various types of entities including financial institutions, manufacturing entities, nonprofit organizations, and wholesale and retail businesses.  Ms. Brynteson chairs our internal review committee that ensures quality attest services.

Ms. Brynteson received her Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Kennesaw State University in 2000 with a major in accounting.  She is a Certified Public Accountant, a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants.



Molly H. Edwards, CPA, MBA, partner

Ms. Edwards is a partner in our Rome and Cedartown office and has more than ten years of experience in public accounting. Ms. Edwards is a Certified Public Accountant licensed to practice in the State of Georgia. Molly holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration with Accounting Concentration and a Masters of Business Administration from Berry College.

Ms. Edwards is responsible for individual, corporate, and partnership income tax planning and preparation.

Ms. Edwards is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Cedartown Chapter of Kiwanis International. Ms. Edwards is a past President of the Rome Chapter of the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants, serves as a board member for the Cedartown Chapter of Kiwanis International, and is a proud graduate of the 2008 Polk County Adult Leadership Class.

Our professional staff are trained in several fields in order to broaden their experiences and to cultivate a more comprehensive background to be used in the engagements to which they are assigned. The firm dedicates substantial resources to the professional improvement and development of its professional staff. To help further our professional development, our CPAs maintain active memberships in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants. Read, Martin & Slickman is a member of the AICPA Peer Review Program, the industry's most widely accepted professional standards program, and has successfully completed the Peer Review Program since its inception in the early 1980s. All professional staff receive a minimum of forty hours of continuing education per year in various fields of knowledge.

Penny S. Farrer, CPA, MBA

Ms. Farrer is a Certified Public Accountant licensed to practice in the state of Georgia.  She is a manager and is responsible for performing financial statement audits for governmental and non-profit entities.  She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants. 

Ms. Farrer holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Accounting and a Masters of Business Administration from Berry College. 


Donna L. Parker, CPA

Ms. Parker is a Certified Public Accountant licensed to practice in the State of Georgia.  Donna holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Business with a major in Accounting from Samford University where she graduated Magna Cum Laude.  Ms. Parker received her certification in 1986.  Donna joined the firm in September of 2008 and works in both the Rome and Cartersville offices.  She brings with her over 25 years in accounting experience.  Her public accounting experience includes 9 years with Cherry Bekaert & Holland, LLP, one of the largest regional firms in the US, and 7 years with a large local firm in Atlanta.  She has extensive experience in business and individual income tax preparation and planning as well as experience in representing clients before taxing authorities.    Donna’s accounting experience also includes private accounting in agriculture, commercial printing and automobile dealerships.  Donna is a member of the Georgia Society of CPA’s, was a graduate of the Leadership Augusta Class of 1989 and was one of the initial organizers and panelists for the annual Augusta Women’s Symposium.
Edward M. Henderson, CPA

Mr. Henderson is a Certified Public Accountant licensed to practice in the state of Georgia in our Rome office and has more than thirty-six years of experience in public accounting.  Mr. Henderson has experience in accounting, auditing, and income taxes for various types of entities including financial institutions, manufacturing entities, nonprofit organizations, and wholesale and retail businesses.
